ernest and i went to our hometown minor league team's game last thursday. the san antonio missions feed into the san diego padres, and every thursday they feature a $1 night. it was a lot of fun, and of course got me missing the diamond like crazy. i played softball from age 5-19 and loved everything about the game. nothing beats the rush i had when i played fastpitch. playing softball taught me so much about teamwork and discipline. i'm sad that this year there won't be olympic softball. i know a lot of young girls look forward to that, and look up to team usa, hoping that one day they'll be the ones representing our country on the diamond.
