independence day means different things for different people, but there is one underlying feeling i think everyone feels on this day. our country isn't perfect, but this is our home, and many of us would fight to the death to protect it. many of our fellow citizens put their lives on the line every.single.day and i couldn't be more proud of what they stand for. from our law enforcement officers and firefighters, to our brave military men and women, we are absolutely lucky to have each and every one that proudly wears the uniforms and serves our country. 'thank you' just isn't enough.
today i'll be spending the day poolside with my family, BBQing and enjoying the gorgeous (albeit HOT) weather outdoors. we're also celebrating my cousin's graduation from high school, with a little surprise party this afternoon. i'm hoping there will be fireworks involved! have a great 4th and be safe out there!!
